Despite Overhaul's extra attachment, SawBlaze continued its attacks and maneuvered Overhaul around the arena.
When the match began, SawBlaze was quickly able to slam Overhaul hard against the arena barrier. SawBlaze's first opponent was against former MIT members and Overhaul.
SawBlaze slices into Overhaul's weapon arm. SawBlaze won a unanimous 3-0 judge's decision. After backing off, SawBlaze proceeded to scoop up Road Rash and cut into Road Rash's saw arm before the time ran out. SawBlaze came over from the rear and sawed into Overhaul's upper clamp once more. After Overhaul escaped, SawBlaze gave chase and found Overhaul toying with a flipped Road Rash. After taking damage from the killsaws, SawBlaze was able to get its sawblade working again and got Overhaul on its dustpan, where it started grinding into the top of Overhaul's clamp. SawBlaze's flame ignition system was broken throughout the fight so it had to use the sparks from the killsaws to ignite it's unique green flame. Soon after, SawBlaze let Overhaul out and started dueling with each other, with SawBlaze managing to beat Overhaul in the ground game most of the time. SawBlaze chased Overhaul around the BattleBox, taking damage from the killsaws and helping to pin Overhaul against Road Rash near the screws, though its saw was not working at that time. When the rumble began, SawBlaze was on the attack but after Road Rash was flipped by Overhaul, SawBlaze went after Overhaul. SawBlaze wasn't finished yet as it participated in a small rumble with Overhaul and Road Rash with its black saw blade. SawBlaze unfortunately was not chosen to be a wildcard meaning it was eliminated from the tournament, although it was slotted to be the first replacement in case any of the other wildcards weren't able to be fixed in time. Razorback won on a controversial 2-1 judge's decision. Towards the end of the battle, Razorback's drum also became disabled. In any case, SawBlaze shoved and controlled Razorback for the rest of the match but didn't put its saw into use again, while Razorback's drum made no big connections, only being able to grind at the former's wedge. Though still functional, the saw now lacked a chain and would be less effective. Despite controlling most of the fight, its weapon was damaged by Razorback around 30 seconds into the fight. Before this match, SawBlaze swapped its front wedge prongs out for a dustpan. SawBlaze's first ever match in BattleBots was against Zach Bieber's Razorback. Razorback clambers on top of SawBlaze and strikes it. However, the dragon head shaped disc was quite heavy, and it often resulted in SawBlaze performing wheelies whenever it tried to lift its saw arm.įor Season 5, SawBlaze's upgrades mainly consisted of its hammer saw having both its spinup and down times significantly decreased, allowing for more control and more blows during the matches and a slightly smoother top section to its wedge, but was largely the same.
SawBlaze's flamethrower was also officially used in competition this season.įor Season 4, SawBlaze was now even more compact, had new wedges and forks, as well as having its saw be interchangeable with a new dragon head shaped spinning disc., reflecting Jamison Go's featherweight MegatRON. The front plow was largely strengthened and the armor raised higher. The dragon head around the saw was downsized in order to maximize saw contact, and the weapon itself was changed to a completely solid, diamond tipped saw. Returning for Season 3, SawBlaze made several large design changes. SawBlaze as it appeared for the 2018 season of BattleBots. This weapon was also paired with a flamethrower, though the flamethrower apparently never worked in combat. Like former BattleBots finalist S.O.B., it used a front "dustpan" to scoop up robots and then bring down an arm which had a circular saw blade attached to deal damage. SawBlaze first entered into BattleBots in the 2nd season on ABC. SawBlaze as it appeared for the 2016 season of BattleBots.
